Mountain Tops, Valleys, and Plateaus

When I first started my podcast and blog, I was afraid. I was terrified that no one would listen or read. However, once I started, that was no longer the case. I had built a steady number of listeners, and I was content, but a sudden surge happened out of nowhere. Instead of my listeners being only people I knew, I was now reaching people in states as far as New York and California. I thought to myself, who would have thought that a Mississippi guy like myself would reach this many people from that far away. It was a mountain top feeling that others were enjoying what I worked so hard to do. I felt like I had it all under control, but then things changed again. It felt like my listeners just left. I started doing topics that I thought were good, but it seemed like no one wanted to listen. But I had to ask myself: why am I doing this? I wanted to create something that would entertain, inspire, inform, and motivate. I know that there will be mountains, valleys, and plateaus. However, I love what I do, and I’ll continue to keep going.
