My day of Freedom

It’s finally Saturday! At the end of my week as I like to view it. A day of rest and doing things I enjoy. No work, no stressing about assignments, and no rushing to the event. Granted, I love all of these. I love having somewhere to be, someone to see, and having felt some sense of purpose. But for me and my faith walk, Sabbath is the day I recenter. I get to read, relax, watch TV, and read a non-work-related book.  However, my absolute favorite is working out and taking my time to leave the gym. Usually, I am on the run, but on Saturday, I can use the hot tub or sauna to relax my muscles after the rigors of the week. Saturday is the day I can let my mind wander, dream, and simply be thankful.

I hope you can find a time like this in your week because we all need it! I understand that things are stressful such as bills, family, deadlines. But when was the last time you gave your brain a break? Being on the go all the time, I look great, but if you never take a moment to stop and just recollect, life will make you! If you were to get sick, lose your job, or to be completely blunt – die. Then the world will keep on moving and not skip a beat. However, when you take a day to yourself and dedicate yourself to some rest, then you’ll have to vigor to keep fighting the good fight. I am not that old, but I have had my fair share of personal successes and failures. The one lesson I learned is that life is not all about me, so if I don’t care for myself. No one else will. I hope this message finds you and gives you clarity, just to take a day off. As always, Peace!
